Last year, the Design Committee at Sunset Harbour North unanimously voted to consider a full renovation of the lobby and valet entrance. Given Sunset Harbour has become one of hottest neighborhoods in Miami, the committee felt strongly that this project would elevate the building, but also  bring some functionality residents would appreciate.  Pepe Calderin was chosen as the designer, and has created a fresh, classic & modern look for Sunset Harbour North. Before checking out the renderings, let's take a look at the current state of the entrance and lobby.1-SHN Driveway 2 -Valet waiting area 3 - valet seating 4 - concierge desk 5 - lobby center 8 - lobby north 6 - lobby glass block On a design level, the committee felt that the large faux columns, the design in the marble flooring, and the drop ceiling all needed to go. On a level of functionality, the committee wanted to address package deliveries, the use of LED lighting, the mailroom, pedestrian entrance, and cart storage.  The board was also involved to make sure costs were in check. My appreciation goes to Mr. Calderin who balanced the desires of both committee and board. Take a look at the full presentation in the link and photos below :

The board is in negotiations with the contractor, and should have this last component very soon. Once approved by the residents, the construction will take between six to eight months from permitting to completion. We definitely look forward to seeing this concept come to a realization. The new entrance and lobby will be a welcome site for residents and visitors alike.
